This lighthouse was constructed in 1883 and is of the caisson type. It is 35 feet in diameter and is located about 3,000 feet east of the beach at the Sandy Point State Park in the Chesapeake Bay. To get there, follow the signs to the state park and go to the parking lot at the end of the island. There is a small admission charge to enter the park.
You can see it from the beach located at the park, or from the Chesapeake Bay bridge.
It is only accessible by boat, but I understand it is not open to the public.
